KoreaPEN, the Central Office for PEN Worldwide in South Korea, helps students and adults prepare for employment and entrepreneurship through hands-on experience in the Practice Enterprise (PE) network. Established in 2011 and mentored by the German Central Office, it has officially operated as the Korean Central Office since 2017, fostering global business readiness through practical, experience-based learning.

KoreaPEN provides participants with real-world business experience before they enter the job market or start their own business. In Practice Enterprises, they take on roles as employees or co-founders, managing key areas such as product planning, finance, marketing, sales, HR, R&D, design, IP, and ESG. This hands-on approach equips them with practical skills applicable to careers and startups.

A key advantage of Practice Enterprises is learning from failure. Participants face real challenges, adapt through experience, and develop essential skills like problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.

KoreaPEN connects participants to a global PE network, offering international business experience. Through trade simulations with 7,000 Practice Enterprises in 42 countries, they gain insights into global markets and cultures.

Comprehensive and Hybrid Approach to Practical Experience


KoreaPEN's job readiness program with PE stands out for its structured, step-by-step approach, incorporating Culture Deck, R&R, and Project Experience. Participants gradually build key business competencies, from understanding corporate culture to tackling real-world challenges through hands-on projects.

Additionally, KoreaPEN’s hybrid model blends face-to-face and remote work, allowing participants to gain experience in both physical and virtual environments. This approach builds adaptable, well-rounded skills essential for success in today’s dynamic business landscape.

Participants who complete the program will be awarded an internationally recognized certificate from Pen Worldwide, EU Lifelong Learning, and other prestigious organizations. This certificate certifies that the participant has demonstrated competency in both job skills and entrepreneurship.

What We Do

  • We provide comprehensive support for establishing and operating Practice Enterprises (PE), where trainees experience the tasks of employees and/or co-founders in a real-world business environment. These programs include on-site job training, practical entrepreneurship training, and development programs for both new and existing employees. The purpose of PE is to offer trainees hands-on experience in workplace tasks and the process of starting up a business, equipping them with valuable skills for their professional growth.

  • We develop and provide operational support for services that create an experience and environment similar to that of a real business. This includes groupware, Practice Enterprise banking (PEN Banking), tax management, web shops, recruitment, and various collaboration tools. Additionally, we offer tools for global business ecosystems, such as international communication platforms, global supply chain management systems, and multi-currency payment solutions, enabling trainees to experience the dynamics of a global enterprise.

  • We offer specialized training programs for coaches, who play key roles in managing and guiding the operations of Practice Enterprises (PE). In PE, the term "coach" is used instead of "teacher" or "facilitator" to emphasize their role in guiding trainees through hands-on experiences in job roles and the startup process.

  • We organize global Practice Enterprise (PE) events, including trade exhibitions, competitions, and international training programs, to create an immersive learning environment that fosters global collaboration and development.

  • We award internationally recognized certificates upon the successful completion of Practice Enterprise (PE) programs, validating participants' skills and achievements on a global scale.

As the Korean Central Office of the PEN Worldwide Organization, we are part of a global network of over 7,000 practice enterprises across more than 40 countries. Through this network, students gain hands-on experience in all areas of a company, explore entrepreneurial roles, and even launch their own businesses.

Our program integrates seamlessly with modern educational methods, including project-based learning, creative problem-solving, and flipped classrooms. By bridging the gaps in traditional field training and internships, we empower students with self-directed work experiences that prepare them for real-world challenges.

Since our founding in 2011, we have pioneered innovative initiatives, such as a hybrid internship model tailored for Korea during the COVID-19 pandemic. These efforts have strengthened partnerships with schools and businesses, contributing to the growth and learning of youth both locally and globally.
